My Literacy,
In Progress
An evolving archive of reading, writing, technology, and meaning.
This site documents how my understanding of literacy changes throughout ENG 306T. I began the course thinking primarily about literacy as reading and writing. As the semester progresses, I am examining how images, sound, technology, digital spaces, and other forms of communication shape how we create and interpret meaning.

Voracious Reader
Sweet Valley Twins, The Baby-Sitters Club, and stacks of books consumed at an alarming rate.
Digital Participant
AOL chat rooms, AIM away messages, and MySpace introduced a new kind of literacy built around social signals and unwritten digital rules.
Algorithmic Reader
Increasing awareness that algorithms shape what information we encounter, reinforcing interests and sometimes creating echo chambers.
Multimodal Learner
Questioning whether literacy should include visual storytelling, video, graphic novels, sound, design, and other modes of communication.
